Plenty of sites, hiking trails and visits are spread around within an hour's drive. It's worth enlarging the map image and you'll see the abundance the area has to offer. Good photos of the area maps with the sites marked on them can be found in the gallery..

Archaia Epidavros (15 km, 12 minutes)

A large and charming fishing village with a beautiful marina that is a short walk along it. Plenty of cafes, taverns, small hotels and varied accommodation. In the early morning, small fishing boats go out to sea, painting the horizon with blue and orange dots. Local fishermen bring their fresh catch directly to the coastal taverns. The village and its surroundings have hiking trails, lookouts, beautiful beaches and even a snorkeling site to the sunken city. In June and July, there is an ongoing theater and music festival that takes place mainly on weekends and uses the ancient theaters in the village itself and the huge theater of ancient Epidaurus.

Chapel of Saint Anargyri Lookout - Ano Fanari (7 km, 10 minutes)

Near the village of Ano Fanari – a spectacular and rare view of the entire Saronic Gulf from a height of 500 meters. At the top of the cliff. From here you can see all the islands of the bay all the way to the other side in Piraeus. It is highly recommended to coordinate the observation for the afternoon hours when the sun is at your back and the view is spectacular. The route to the observation starts from the village of Ano Fanari

Devil's Bridge (14 km, 24 minutes)

A short and cute hiking trail. The road that leads there passes through the remains of a fortress of the ancient village of Troizena to a small parking lot. From here, a trail emerges that quickly reaches a narrow bridge that passes high above the stream canyon. Here you can continue on the other bank for a 400-meter trail overlooking the stream from above or go down to the right on a steep and slightly challenging path that descends under the bridge to the bottom of the canyon to clear water pools. You can walk up the stream channel in the water and between the pools using ropes tied here. The water usually flows all year round. Even at the end of summer.

Methana Peninsula (25 km, 35 minutes)

Wild and vibrant nature. The Matana Peninsula offers options for a full day trip with many options from climbing a fascinating volcano, soaking in hot springs, sitting in a tavern in a tiny and charming fishing port, wild beaches and an abundance of hiking trails and driving roads that open up the view and breathe.

Ancient Theater of Epidavros & Temple of Asclepius (28 km, 30 minutes)

It is considered the theater with the perfect acoustics in Greece and perhaps in the world. 12,000 seats. A geometric, symmetrical structure. Perfect. And the acoustics. Perfect. In the center of the stage circle there is an alter. In the center is a hole. When you throw a coin into it, you hear it from every seat in the theater. This theater is a peak of ancient Greek culture (fourth century BC) and is located in a space of healing and medicine. People came to the medical temples near it to undergo healing in processes of changing consciousness using techniques of connecting spirit, body and soul. Purification with water and connection to the earth. In the center of this medical city there was also a library, an athletics stadium, temples for prayer and offering offerings. There is also a museum on site with spectacular marble statues that were found there.

Nafplio (50 km, 45 minutes)

Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece between 1823 and 1834, is considered by many, probably rightly, to be the most beautiful city in Greece. Byzantine, Frankish, Venetian and Turkish conquerors left their mark on the city and greatly influenced its culture, architecture and traditions over the centuries. Ancient walls, medieval castles, mosques turned into churches, monuments and statues, Ottoman fountains and Venetian or neoclassical Greek buildings create a fascinating architectural mix here. The lively old town, built in a network of two and three-lane streets, is full of chic and charm, beautiful shops, cafes and restaurants. Just get lost enjoying the buildings and streets and finding things you didn't think you needed. Ancient fortresses overlook the city, hiking trails climb to them, and a charming promenade circles the city along the seashore. You won't want to miss a visit to this city.

POROS Island - The ferry to Poros Island departs from the town of Galatas (24 km, 25 minutes)

Poros is a picturesque island - as Greece at its best knows how to give. The view of the town of Poros from the ferry is mesmerizing. When you get off, it's just fun to wander through the alleys and climb to the clock tower from which there is a wonderful view. Plenty of taverns, cafes and shops are mainly located on the lower street adjacent to the bay. A circular road surrounds the island and reaches remote and beautiful beaches, ancient heritage sites and small villages. A network of walking trails allows for beautiful days of hiking for every season and fitness level.

Recommended beaches - organized or quiet and secluded - there is a variety within a short distance

Below is a small selection. You can get the full list from us. ---- ------ ------ Kaloni Pebble Beach (7 km, 9 minutes) One of the special and magical beaches of the Saronic Gulf. A pebble beach with incredibly clear water and a view of the Methana peninsula. Above the beach there is also a small and cozy tavern. ## Paralia Limnionas Beach – a beautiful sandy beach in a bay facing the open Mediterranean Sea. It is very close to the main town of Methana and can be crowded in the middle of summer. It has beds and umbrellas for rent and a kiosk. ## Bay of Love – this is the name given to this beach which is long enough to find peace in a beautiful bay. The place is not on the peninsula but very close to the crossing point from the mainland to Methana. There are no beach services. ## Beach – Azul Beach Bar – in a closed bay which produces most of the time a flat sea with no waves at all with turquoise water. There is a cafe bar and beds with umbrellas for rent. ## Kalamaki Beach – in the northern corner of The village. Pine trees shade a small, clean bay with clear water.## Panagista Beach - Church - In the southern corner of the village. A charming, tiny beach located below a beautiful church. A popular spot for photos.##

• Taverna Manthos (13 min) – Fish and seafood. A small, popular and recommended place. • Gianna Tavern (18 min) – Gianna’s restaurant – is located between Methana and Galatas, on the road. But the food here is excellent Greek. The place is cozy and the price is fair. Very worth it. • The Garden – Frivoli (18 min) – A magical space to sit, a large variety of excellent dishes. • Kalamata – The Terrace (18 min) – A family restaurant, good food, great service. • Moragio (19 min) – The recommended one of the central marina. It is next to the ice cream parlor. The tables are located opposite on the corner of the sidewalk. Delicious and varied dishes at fair prices. • Vassiliki’s Steakhouse (19 min) – The locals’ choice. A small and intimate corner – grilled meats and a few other classic Greek dishes. # Michel – (19 min) A high-class chef's restaurant with appropriate prices that specializes mainly in seafood and fish. With a varied wine bar. Recommended for festive events. This is not an ordinary Greek restaurant but a different culinary experience. • Moria (20 min) – Amazing location on a shaded terrace with beautiful strawberry trees on the waterfront. A variety of dishes, Italian and Greek. • Taverna Batzavalis (20 min) – A meat tavern, highly recommended with huge portions. Open only on weekends. It is important to make a reservation in advance. • RIVER-STEFANOPOULOS BROS (25 min) A variety of girls and meats. Seating above a beautiful garden. Huge portions at fair prices.
